On my sunset walk last night, I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Good Food with Evan Kleiman, and one of her stories was about Pad Thai. Done.
After meeting my friend Amy for breakfast (had an egg, mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich), I decided to treat myself to Thai delivery for lunch (after finishing my chores). My chores included folding and putting away laundry, cleaning out the fridge, cleaning out two coolers and taking out the recycling. Yeah, I know, rough life.
I had to order $20 worth of Thai food to get it delivered, so I also ordered Pad Se-ew and tofu fried rice. Luckily, I only ate the Pad Thai. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
The good news is, the Pad Thai was good! I’ve yet to have decent Pad Thai in LA (usually WAY too sweet). It wasn’t mind blowing or anything, but will do in a pinch, and these cravings I’m having are no joke.
I also wanted to report that light night was MUCH better in the acid reflux department (if that is, indeed, what I have). What did I do differently? I ate very light in the evening (yogurt, granola bar and a plum-all spaced over a few hours), and I elevated my head with extra pillows. I still woke up with the bile-in-mouth panic, but only a few times. I’m still not sure if I call this acid reflux if I’m not experiencing since I’m not having any burning. Just sudden food-in-espohagusness.
