23 Weeks

Officially showing.  Now when I wake up in the morning and feel my belly it’s like, woah.  There’s a baby in there.

Other notables:

Had a very vivid birth dream.  He was born in water after four good pushes (a girl can dream), he was 6 pounds, 8 ounces and immediately started to nurse.  I kept forgetting to write down his feeding time, and his toenails were very long.  I was totally, completely, in love.

My stomach has been upset for the last three days.  I feel like my organs are moving around, and they probably are.

No more nausea, all gone!  And I have lots of energy.  And I still sleep well.

I feel like my eating has returned to a more normal pattern.  That is, if eating two hot dogs for dinner four days in a row (don’t worry, they’re organic, uncured and nitrate free) and chewing an entire roll of Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape is normal.

I’ve been enjoying a workout everyday.  Workouts now include prenatal yoga, walk/jogs (alternate block by block for at least 3 miles), and light strength training a la Prego Fit and Ballet Body Workout.

I’m still cooking and writing for my clients.  Not super busy but still feeling like a productive member of society, and actually loving my work more than ever.  Kind of ironic…

We have our first midwife appointment on Tuesday.  So. Excited!  I’m hoping she knows of a mama-to-be support group, especially if it’s geared towards those of us who are planning a natural birth.  Would love to have some support with other ladies who are feeling some serious butterflies.

We hope to have a babymoon soon, dependent on husband’s work schedule, and also hope to make it home to Michigan one more time before our little guy makes his debut.

That’s all for now.  I’m going to take a bath…I’m freezing in my sweaty workout clothes!  Then I think I’m going to see Catfish and eat a big vegan cookie.
